J is for Janie

When I came home from work today, I was struck by how much Janie has grown. She's going to be 3 at the end of the month. I can't believe how quickly the time has gone by. I remember waiting for her to come, and feeling so complete once she arrived. What a spunky little blessing we have. Oh man, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.
As she's grown, her personality has come bursting through. She is so kooky and inquisitive and she makes us laugh so much.
She is the messiest eater we have both EVER met in our lives.
It's amazing to know that she started pretty much as a blank slate, that mostly everything she knows now is from what Colt and I have taught her (sometimes the Disney channel contributes too). We are constantly reminded of the responsibility we have as parents to do all we can to teach her to be kind and love others. It's pretty daunting!!
My monkeys. One day Janie found stickers, then she found Hunter.
I can't wait to see her grow as the years go by and I'm so thankful for my beautiful babies. H is for Hunter, coming soon.

What Happens in Ogden, Stays in Ogden

We took Colt to the airport this past Friday so he could fly to Sacramento to do some testing. Instead of driving back to Rexburg to spend a lonely week without him, I decided to just stay in Ogden with my brother and Bruce. Oh boy are these kids spoiled! Hunter had his very first chocolate chip cookie here, home made by Cau Ba. They were so yummy. Here are a few pictures of the wonderful world that is chocolate .
You only wish someone baked you cookies this good.
Shocked into a chocolate-induced submission.
Isn't it amazing how messy Janie can get when she eats? Horrifying, absolutely horrifying.
Earlier in the day we went to Ogden's Union Station to see where Bruce and Anh Ba will be having their reception in September. It was really pretty!! I loved the exposed pipes and original brick work, I LOVE ARCHITECTURE! Michael is worried the room is too big, I don't think he's aware of how he's quite the social butterfly and many people love him and Bruce. This large room will be packed!
Very long room.
With an entire wall of windows. We are going to make this space beautiful.
My brother and future brother-in-law, Bruce.
It was cold outside.
Great architecture aside, there were also TRAINS for Janie to play with!! CHOO CHOO!!
Conductor Janie
We found some old timey phone booths.
We are so dang cute.

I was going to climb to the top of the train but then I was worried I'd get stuck, like a cat up a tree.

Fun in the Snow

Here are a couple of pictures from Janie's first excursion out in the snow and sledding =)
Colt helped Janie make a little snowman. Mostly she tried eating it.
My angel making an angel.
Sledding down a hill at Smith Park.
Go Speed Racer, GO!

Decorating the Christmas Tree

My life is like something out of a movie now..
Hmm.. which handmade seashell ornament should I choose?
Love me.
Santa's Little Helper

Daddy's helping Janie spread out the ornaments.
We had an "island" themed Christmas tree decorated with many ornaments Colt collected during his mission. Mindy also handmade a bunch of seashell ornaments and they looked awesome. I made a garland out of twine, star fish, and seashells. For the tree skirt we used a grass hula skirt also from Colt's mission. We are a crafty bunch.

Hunter's Blessing

Hunter James Jeppson was blessed on November 30th, 2010 by his daddy Colter Seth Jeppson, uncle Trenton James Jeppson, Spencer Thueson, and Brother Herrera.
The wonderful priesthood holders who participated in the blessing.
Trent's Family: Lexi, JT, Amy, Rylie, Trent, and Mady (Rylie hit her hand against the fireplace grate and had to go to the ER for a stitch, sad face)
Great Grandma Jeppson
Mimi - the best Grandma a kid could ever ask for.
Cau Ba and Anh-Chi-Cau-Ba-Uncle Bruce
I'm so thankful my children are growing up in a household where the priesthood is present. I am thankful to have my wonderful babies, they are the joys of my life. I couldn't imagine how empty my life would be without them and my loving husband.

Welcome! Welcome!

So I decided I should get hip with it and finally start a blog about our family. The main reason I haven't started one yet is because I just didn't think anyone cares about what is going on with my family but after many requests, I've decided to oblige you all. You're welcome. So hello everybody! Hopefully I will be good about updating this and keeping y'all informed.
We are some mighty fine looking people. I'm just saying.
